Trust your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is. Don’t worry about being polite—your safety comes first. 

 Stay aware of your surroundings. Put your phone away and look around. Knowing what’s happening gives you the edge if something doesn’t feel right. 

Carry something for self-defence. A whistle, pepper spray, or even your keys can make a big difference. Just know how to use them and keep them within reach. 

Use your voice. If someone’s making you uncomfortable, say ‘No!’ or ‘Back off!’ Loudly and clearly. Confidence can scare them off and attract attention.  

Learn some basic moves. Simple things like palm strikes, a jab to the neck, or a knee to the groin can give you the chance to escape
